It has come to this author’s attention that the most intriguing bonds are not those formed with ease… but those that begin in the quiet shadows of doubt.

Such is the curious case of three individuals once distant, now delightfully entangled in companionship.

At the start, there was a careful avoidance, a silent conclusion that alignment whether professional or technical would be, quite simply, impossible. Hawa Jaafar and Ikmal Farhiel were, in those early days, merely names within proximity, rather than souls within reach.

And yet… how swiftly fate intervenes.

For in the passing of days, what was once guarded transformed into something rather… extraordinary. Not a structured alliance, no far from it. But instead, a space delightfully chaotic, beautifully unfiltered, and entirely unpredictable.

A space where laughter arrives unannounced.
Where conversations wander aimlessly, only to uncover truths one did not know they needed.

At a time when one had chosen solitude retreating into a private world of ambition, discipline, and quiet focus it was these two unlikely companions who dared to challenge such restraint.

“Do not silence your inner child,” they seemed to say though never quite so formally.

And what followed was nothing short of remarkable.

Through spontaneous confessions, dramatic retellings otherwise known as “spilling the tea”, late-hour reflections, and moments of concern that evolved into impromptu therapy sessions, a bond was formed. Not perfect oh no, far from it but real.

Painfully, beautifully real.

There were lessons, too. Patience, when tempers tested limits. Confidence, when doubt crept in uninvited. And perhaps most scandalous of all the freedom to exist as oneself, unapologetically, even in moments where judgment briefly made an appearance… only to become yet another topic of laughter.

Work hours, it seems, were merely a suggestion.

For beyond them existed a world of shared chaos detective-level overthinking, endless conversations, and a peculiar productivity fueled by nothing more than presence and connection. What began as coincidence soon revealed itself as something far greater: a bond not built on necessity, but on character, resilience, and an unspoken understanding.

And so, a transformation occurred.

Where once there was retreat, there is now expansion.
Where once there was caution, there is now courage.

To be oneself not flawless, not always right but undeniably real. And in that truth lies a quiet kind of power.

Gratitude, of course, must be noted.

To God, for orchestrating such an unexpected meeting of souls.
To the music that became their anthem loud, festive, and occasionally… entirely incomprehensible (let’s get load by Jennifer lopes, Jodoh lebaran by Aishah retno and that Chinese song, still a mystery to this day).

And let us not forget the most curious of all events the office staycation. A gathering so simple, yet so filled with laughter that even time itself seemed insufficient. A scandal, perhaps, only in how much joy it contained within ordinary walls.

And so, dear reader, we arrive at a most satisfying conclusion
Or rather… a beginning in disguise.

For these two individuals have become more than mere colleagues.
They are, quite undeniably, pillars steady and unwavering in both work and life.

And if this author may dare to predict…
